Frequently Asked Questions

iPixel is commonly used to improve acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, sun damage, and dull skin tone.
The treatment works by creating a controlled burn in your skin. This activates your body's natural healing response, allowing your skin to heal to a better condition than before. Collagen and elastin production is also increased for several months after treatment, for a fantastic rejuvenating result to delay signs of ageing.
The laser can be performed with or without anaesthetic as you may experience a mild burning and stinging sensation. The laser is fired in several passes over the skin, with the depth and power selected according to your concerns and skin type. Total treatment time without anaesthetic is around 30 minutes.
Results in skin texture, tone and elasticity can be seen almost as soon as the laser scabbing falls off 1 week later. For deeper scars we recommend a course of treatments. Initial skin improvements may appear within a few weeks, but collagen production continues over time. Best results are usually seen gradually over several months following treatment.
Many clients notice visible improvement after one session but a course of 3–5 treatments is highly recommended for optimal results especially for acne scarring and texture concerns.
Most clients describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. A topical numbing cream is usually applied before treatment to help you feel comfortable during the session. The laser will leave a "pixel stamp" pattern on the treated area. This will slowly scab over the course of a few days. On the 5th-7th day after treatment the scabbing will fall off completely to reveal young, fresh baby skin beneath.
iPixel may be suitable for many skin types, but a professional consultation is important to assess your skin safely, especially for darker skin tones where pigmentation risks can be higher with laser resurfacing.
Yes, iPixel is one of the most effective treatments for acne scarring because it helps resurface damaged skin and stimulate new collagen to smooth uneven texture.
Temporary redness, swelling, dryness, and peeling are common after treatment. Less common risks can include pigmentation changes, prolonged redness, or infection if aftercare instructions are not followed properly.
We recommend avoiding makeup for at least 24–48 hours after treatment while the skin is healing. But you can safely wear makeup once redness and peeling have improved. Usually within 5–7 days depending on the intensity of the treatment and individual healing time.
iPixel is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections, open wounds, or inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area. It should also be avoided or postponed if you have recent sun exposure, tanning, or have had recent aggressive skin treatments that may have sensitised the skin.
There is a downtime period of 5-7 days, varying from person to person. Your skin will be red for the first 24 hours, and over the next few days the pixel dots from treatment will turn brown. These will gradually begin to flake off from the 3rd day, and by days 5-7 your skin will be back to normal, but refreshed.
