Treatment Overview

As skin loses collagen and elasticity over time, the face can begin to sag and lose its definition. This is particularly noticeable around the cheeks, jawline, and neck.

Thread lifting addresses this directly, using fine biodegradable sutures. When placed precisely beneath the skin you can physically lift and reposition tissue. Simultaneously you'll stimulate your body's own collagen production for results that continue to improve over time.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia with little downtime. It's a clinically effective, non-surgical alternative to a facelift with visible results from the very first treatment. Book your complimentary consultation to see if it's right for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Thread Lifts are often used for treating mild to moderate skin laxity in the mid-face, jawline, neck, and eye area.
Temporary medical grade dissolvable threads are inserted beneath your skin using fine needles or a cannula. Your practitioner then tightens the threads to lift your skin into the desired position. Excess thread is then trimmed away and the ends are tucked safely beneath the skin, completely invisible.
Thread Lifts work in two ways, first by mechanically tightening and lifting your skin, and second by increasing collagen production in the treated area. The result is an immediate tightening and lifting, as well as a long-term plumping from collagen production.
You may experience swelling and tenderness for the first 2-3 days. Through days 4-7 the swelling subsides, and if you have any bruising it can be concealed with makeup. By weeks 2-4 the threads are settled in your skin, and the side-effects should be totally gone.
You will see an immediate lifting and tightening effect after your treatment. As collagen production is increased you'll notice a gradual improvement over time, with your final result at 3-6 months.
Thread Lifts are most suitable if you are after a lifting and tightening effect around the eyes, midface, or jaw. They're a great option if you feel you are not quite ready for surgical procedures, or would rather avoid surgery altogether. They are ideal if you have mild to moderate skin laxity.
Thread Lift results last between one to one and a half years in most cases.
You can treat the jawline and jowls, cheeks and midface, eyes and eyebrows, and mouth and chin with Thread Lifts.
We use Mint PDO threads, which are dissolvable and won't stay permanently within your skin.
Thread Lifts are considered a safe procedure but there are potential complications. These include infections, skin dimpling, and thread extrusions often due to inexperienced or untrained practitioners. We recommend being thorough in your selection process to ensure you have the safest treatment possible.
Your Thread Lift will be done under local anaesthesia, but it is not painless. Many clients experience a sharp pain during the threading, followed by milder discomfort.
1 week before your procedure you should avoid blood thinning medication and alcohol, as well as stopping smoking. For 1 week after your procedure you should sleep flat on your back with your head elevated on pillows. You should also try to avoid extreme facial expressions, and eat soft foods for the first few days. For 2-3 weeks you should also avoid strenuous workouts, saunas, sunbeds, and swimming pools.
