What is ClearLift Laser and How Does it Work?

Updated: Mar 8

It can be a little difficult to know sometimes what a treatment does, so you may be wondering what ClearLift is. Possibly you've heard of it as the non-surgical facelift and know some of the benefits, such as:

  • Skin tightening and skin lifting

  • Anti-ageing such as wrinkle reduction

  • Skin brightening and pigmentation reduction

  • Smoother skin texture and reduced pore size

But, you'd like to know how it actually works too.

Well, in this article you'll learn what the ClearLift treatment is and the science behind how it works. By the end you'll know what ClearLift is, how it works, and if it could be right for you.

What is ClearLift Laser?

Put simply the ClearLift Laser is a non-invasive and non-ablative facelifting laser, which means no skin damage. You can refer to this type of laser as a "cold laser", as you won't feel heat or burning. In contrast to an ablative laser such as iPixel laser resurfacing, there's no downtime at all.

You'll get the results of a facelift without any surgery or downtime, so there's no long recovery times. We'll get into how it works a little later, but with that said:

ClearLift may be a great option for you for facelifting treatment without surgical risks or the downtime of laser skin resurfacing. As a bonus you'll even notice a reduction in hyperpigmentation, such as from sun damage, as the laser breaks down excess pigment in your skin.

How Does ClearLift Work?

Your ClearLift Laser is a photoacoustic laser. This means that ClearLift uses the power of light and sound waves to work on the deeper skin of the dermis. These light and sound waves:

Increase Collagen Production

Light and sound waves stimulate plasma cells to produce more collagen in the dermis, and sub-dermis deeper within the skin. This increased collagen production slows down and even reverses the ageing process, as it works in deep layers of the skin.

This isn't just exclusive to the face either, you can have this treatment on the face and neck, and decollete. You'll notice reduced lines and wrinkles, skin tightening and plumping, and a lifted appearance. This makes ClearLift a great anti-ageing option if you'd rather not have treatments such as dermal fillers or surgery.

Shatter Excess Melanin

Melanin is a protein, produced by melanocytes in your skin, that causes skin darker colour. Normal amounts vary from person to person depending on their natural skin type and tone. But excess melanin in your skin is responsible for skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation and skin discolouration.

The ClearLift light and sound waves will brighten your skin, and target patches of hyperpigmentation and discolouration. They do this by shattering melanin, which is then cleared up by your immune system.

Less melanin means brighter skin and reduced hyperpigmentation, such as sun spots.

This is also great for managing melasma and reducing it's appearance. But remember there isn't a cure for it at the moment so protecting your skin from the sun is vital, especially during Summer! Remember to wear sunscreen and avoid prolonged direct exposure to sunlight when you can.

Bleach Hairs on Your Face

Similarly to how ClearLift can brighten your skin, it works on hairs to bleach them and reduce visibility. You'll notice that the hairs become much lighter and almost invisible as the laser breaks down their pigment.

This won't affect how your hair grows like laser hair removal does however.

Gently Exfoliate Your Skin

Lastly you'll benefit from some very gentle exfoliation from ClearLift. This will help prevent pore blockage, but won't be a dramatic result such as if you had a chemical peel.

There are a whole host of ClearLift benefits associated with the above effects, such as; facelifting, wrinkle and fine line reduction, and smoothened skin texture.
